PARIS JAZZ FESTIVAL 2013
As our fifth edition in the gorgeous setting of Parc Floral is about to begin, we are pleased to offer you a thrilling program of artistically rich projects that will further reinforce the reputation of the Paris Jazz Festival as one of the leading events of its kind in Europe, both in terms of attendance and artistic innovation.
31 concerts within the space of 8 weekends, numerous workshops and other activities… This marathon festival will keep music fans and nature lovers on their toes in June and July, with several highlights:
- faithful to a tradition initiated in 2011, the Paris Jazz Festival will offer two night concerts this season, with a superlative project by clarinetist Yom, “The Silence of Exile, on our opening night, June 8;
- a revolutionary Bastille day weekend, with an “interactive ball” that will bring everyone to their feet on the Saturday afternoon, and a funky 14th of July with New Orleans R’n’B star Trombone Shorty;
- a spectacular Jazz & Film creation on our closing night, July 28, with the original score written by orchestra leader Patrice Caratini for the 1925 silent movie Body & Soul, a 7th Art masterpiece by African-American director Oscar Micheaux.
A great Paris Jazz Festival and Musical Summer to all!
